Happy Veteran's Day
I cannot let this day go by without a quick posting saying thank you to all of the men and women serving our country and fighting for our freedom and ways of life here in America. I truly feel indebted to them and also to their families who have to live without them for so long---and sometimes forever :(. The people who choose to go into the military truly are brave and strong and sacrifice so much. Thank you again to all of you...and my favorite saying: HOME OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!! We pray for you every day. We have several friends and family members overseas right now, as I know many people do. THANK YOU!
Milestones
Well today seems to be a big day for the babies. Weston and I watched Brody roll over this morning from his back to his tummy--again all he had left was his arm stuck underneath him; otherwise he was all the way there! And then tonight Delaney--not to be outdone--rolled over for the kids and I from her tummy to her back! Just...plop! There she went! It was so cute. Then when I tried to put her back onto her tummy to do it again, she just got mad and laid there and screamed. Maybe tomorrow?! I don't even know if Delaney really realized what she did. Brody seemed to kind of get it and feels some sort of excitement about what he could do with this newfound mobility. But he didn't try it again yet either.
Two days ago, on Monday, Brody discovered his squealing voice! It is SOOOO cute. He gets this high-pitched squeal and does it on purpose. He did it about eight times in the 15 minutes or so that he was interacting with Scott.
Lastly Delaney finally discovered that she has two hands that can touch too! As I was nursing her tonight, she started playing with her hands while she was looking up at me. Brody has this thing where he always "talks with his mouth full" (this is what I call it)--while he is nursing he will start trying to talk and laugh and spit milk all over my face! But how can you get mad at that---it is so adorable. Usually Delaney is not much into interacting while she is eating other than holding onto my hand or my skin; but tonight when Brody was falling asleep nursing, she was actually talking and smiling at me too. They are so sweet and such blessings.
And Azbrielle and Weston---wow they are so fantastic! The best helpers ever and also with the best attitudes about their siblings! I hear, "I love Brody and Delaney" so many times every day from them, especially Weston. Instead of being jealous of all the time and attention I have to give the babies, they just seem to love them even more. Truly amazing. What good kids. They are doing so well with their homeschooling and seem to genuinely like it. They do miss the kids at public school--especially Weston--but that will be better once we start MCP in January. Now that the babies are getting a little older and eat more like every 3 hours instead of every two, hopefully we will start getting out of the house a little more often. I think we are all going a little stircrazy.
I am amazed every day at how smart the kids are and how they soak up knowledge like sponges. We as a society truly underestimate the abilities of children. So Brody and Delaney are hopefully going to be prime examples of how much babies can learn. We are going to order that Your Baby Can Read program here really soon and start that. It will be interesting to see how it works. Before we know it, it will be time to start sign language too! I am sure the kids will be great at helping with that.
Gotta go to bed-it is soo late. And I am afraid that I am getting sick too. Oh, and for some ridiculous reason Brody has regressed to getting up like every two hours in the night the last few nights! Of course it would have to be when Scott is on nights too :(. And now that the babies are sharing rooms with the older kids, I can't exactly let him cry it out. It kind of sucks, and I am not sure exactly how to handle it without waking the other three kids up.
I miss my honey! And it was so good to see my big "baby" Chase this weekend--although I didn't get to see him nearly as much as I should have. He went hunting with my dad on Sat and stayed with Drew and Jake Sat night. It was kind of a bummer and WILL NOT be that way next time!

I have hands!
Brody discovered the fact that he has two hands and that they can touch each other the other day! It was last Thursday, October 29. Now he has his hands clasped and intertwined more often than not. It is so cute. He also sucks his thumb more these days, which is not a good thing...but the way he does it is so cute. He has not figured out that he can put his fingers down and just have the thumb extended. He basically covers his face with the other four fingers splayed out and awkwardly tries to suck the thumb. I have never seen a child do it; it is so adorable. I will add a pic soon, now that I know how to do it! yay!
We are heading to the other side of the mtns here in a few minutes. We are travelling at night hopefully to make the trip less stressful...I am praying that Scott will be able to stay awake! He is napping now, and I am feeding babies. It will be a long trip--always is--but should be worth it. We get to see Chase and Mom and Dad for about 5 days. Now that we are HOMESCHOOLING!!! we get to take off on Scott's weeks off. How exciting! I will post later this week about how that is going...and I need to remember to email my MCP consultant Melissa too!
Gotta go pump so we can get out of here! Getting late!
Oh yeah one more thing--Brody rolled over last night--we think! He was on the floor on his back right next to Scott's knee while he was taking Delaney to the bathroom. None of us was really watching, but all of a sudden Scott said he rolled over! He was on his tummy with his left arm still stuck underneath him! We tried to roll him back over to see if he would do it again, but he just got mad and started screaming. Pretty exciting though! He seems so young! What a big, strong boy. We love our babies---ALL of them! Miss you Chase!
