Lots of new little happenings

It has been way too long since I have been on this thing.  I kind of actually forgot about it for a while..sad.  Guess that is what happens then I am homeschooling and have twins and all of that!  But I had to blog tonight even though it is late to write a few things down so I don't forget them.  So here goes...not necessarily in order though...

As of yesterday, December 8, Brody is officially rolling regularly.  He could do it before, but he only did it once in a while.  Same with Delaney.  BUt now they both roll at lesat a few times a day.  And they have hit that wonderl stage where every time I try to change their diaper or take off or put on their clothes, they are twisting and turnign and trying to roll away form me!  What a pain.  But it is so cute to see them progress.  She seems to touch things a little more, like our little touch-feely boook with bunny and baby duck hair in it.  She touches the book pages as we are reading them.  He does this a little , more and more each day also.

We had their four month well checks last Tuesday ,December 1.  B rody weighted in at a whopping 15 pounds 6.75 oz, and Delaney was 11 pounds 8 oz!  What a difference!  Totally amazing.  He is all muscle and bones though; she actually has more fat rolls than he does.  And they basically eat at the same time all day...the only difference is that he was waking p in the middle of the night pretty much the whole time and getting an extra feeding.  I don't know if this could have made that much of a difference or if he is just built bigger.  His feet are so much bigger than hers---length and thickness.

Tonight was a first, I think.  Scott is on nights so I am home with the kids alone.  I nursed Brody until he was pulling off tired and then carried him in.  Usually he cries for anywhere form 2-10 minutes before falling asleep.   When I laid him down, he was smiling at me.  When I went to kiss him, he opened his mouth like he was trying to kiss me back!!!  It was so cool!  He did it several times, because I wanted to see if it was a fluke or something--must not have been , because he kept doing it.  It made me feel special.  Then I held him for a minute in stead of laying him down.  Weston and I sang to him a few songs:  Twinkle, Twinkle, I am a Child of God, and the song I made up for Weston way back then, "Night night."  I laid him down completely awake and walked out, ready for his scream.  NONE!!!!  He made a few little talking noises but no fussing or anything!!! Wow, amazing.  And not last night but the night before, BOTH babies slept in until 8 and 8:30!!!  Brody til 8, Delaney til 8:30.  Totally fantastic!  Maybe now I won't feel like a walking zombie all of the time.

We went to LV to see Chase and M and D last week.  The trip was not so great---had to stop 3 times on the way there...for Weston to go to the bathroom!  Poor guy had diarrhea and then had to pee like 30 minutes apart!  Delaney slept the WHOLE way there!  And Brody only woke up I think because we had to stop that third time; this is when he got up and ate and went pee.

We are still doing EC, or Elimination Communication, with the babies.  It is so cool how many people we tell about it are open-minded and want to learn more about it.  Karla, the MA at our pediatrician's office, tells all of her parents about it.  Heck, even our dermatologist tells his patients about it! When Scott was out in his waiting room, he heard Dr. Marshall telling a patient about it as she left, and he did not even know Scott was sitting there!  Crazy.  But it is so cool.  USUALLY we catch the poopy diapers and try not to have any in one day.  It seems like the babies both have a pattern of pooping in the early evening, around five or six.  They both went at the SAME time tonight!  We have even been catching some pees, where their diapers are dry and able to be put back on them.  Now that is cool but very hard to do with two babies.   But now that I know about EC, I don't think I could NOT do it!  It is such a cool thing.

Brody plays with his hands constantly and tries to shove them both (fists) into his mouth!  He sometimes gags himself.   Lately he has wanted to be held more than usual, especially today.  And we are thinking that he is or just was going through a growing spurt?   They have both been wanting to eat ore often too-still around 3 hours betweeen.  Dr Sean said Brody could start out on solids, but I would rather wait until he is 6 months old.

Weston is so cute.  He tries to repeat sayings that he hears us say, but they don't always sound like the originals.  Today it was, "Delaney is talking a storm!"  What he means is, she is talking UP a storm.  But he does that sometimes, and that is so cute.  What a great kid.

And Azbrielle is such a loving girl.  I love that about her.  They are both doing so great in homeschool, even though sometimes they have a hard time staying on task.  Not sure why all of a sudden...?!   It seems to be getting worse, not better...we will see what happens.  But they have started MCP PE and Court Club PE and LOVE it!  So hopefully they are getting some more exercise.

Gotta go to bed before Brody wakes up before I even go to bed.

I think tha tis all of the major news so far.  Delaney is still such a smiley girl, and Brody makes you earn it!  It is almost even more special when he has to study you first for a minute to decide if  you deserve a smile or not!  He always looks at me and watches me, even if I am talking to or looking at someone else.  He especially does this when he is nursing but basically all the time.   I don't know if I have ever had a baby do that to me before.

Well we broke down and got an IMac!  Wow...what an expensive computer!  WE went in to get the cheapest Mac and came out with the biggest and most expensive in the store...ouch!!!  But it sure is beautiful and cool.  I am still trying to learn all the tricks and how to do things though!

Scott is getting his raises and lots of training in his new mechanic position, which is great.  He earns more money there and is building his resume on them.  Sweet.

I have decided to go back winter quarter starting Jan. 4 and teach rad lab with Fran on Fridays from 9-3.  It is so weird being away from the babies that long...yuck.  BUt Lisa said she will watch them, and the kids will help out too I am sure.   Scott only works two Fridays a month, so he will have them when he is off.  And we are going to join Court Club I think until Gold's is ready.  We signed up for Gold's but it won't be ready til summer.   Bummer.

Okay good night...try to come back soon and I need to post some family portrait pics that we got taken at Lake Sacajawea last Wednesday by Dave Rubert---fantastic photos!  fddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
